likely starting with the latest upgrade to 5.12.0-1, the in-session history mechanism stopped working when "clear_history_on_exit" is set in the config file. I don't think this is intended and there's nothing to the effect it in the changelog, only a max history option was added some time ago. At any rate, my expectation was matched by the former behavior, in other words working history but nothing kept between invocations.
