Hi!
I've tested the new upstream release 4.0.8-1 and it is still failing to
build against Python 3.15rc2 [1].
This is due to the fact that the 4.0.x releases are being prepared in a
maintenance branch, and the upstream commit that fixes Python 3.15
support was only applied in main.
In other words, even though there was a new upstream release, the
upstream patch that I pointed to in my previous email [2] is still
needed to get pylint to build successfully against Python 3.15.
I've applied this fix in the sandbox [3] to verify that it builds
successfully, this should be applied in Debian to support the upcoming
Python 3.15 transition.
