Package: scowl Version: 2020.12.07-4 Severity: wishlist Debian unstable is still shipping scowl 2020.12.07-4, and the hunspell-en-us binary built from this source therefore still uses the 2020.12.07 word-list data.
Upstream en-wl/wordlist published the 2026.02.25 English Hunspell dictionary release: https://github.com/en-wl/wordlist/releases/tag/rel-2026.02.25 Upstream describes 2026.02.25 as a dictionary-only release and the first since the transition to the new database format; an official SCOWL release itself is being deferred until the underlying architecture stabilizes. The release also includes more than 1,500 newly selected high-frequency words. Would it be possible to update Debian's generated Hunspell dictionaries to the current 2026.02.25 dictionary release, or otherwise package the newer dictionary data while SCOWL itself remains on the older official release? This also affects downstream distributions such as Ubuntu, whose hunspell-en-us package remains based on the 2020.12.07 data. Thanks.
