Control: found -1 6.9.1-1 The readLineInto was introduced and switched to in qtbase.git's commit 69e6ae1670faaa901e5ad06a79fa330761f1af36 which arrived with 6.9.
Qt 5.15's readLine(), which is called for loadPO instead, calls result.squeeze(), so Qt5 does not expose this issue.
