Package: dh-virtualenv
Version: 1.2.2-3
Severity: normal

Running dh_virtualenv --builtin-venv without --python makes the build
fail, because the interpreter used to create the virtualenv is None:

  File "/usr/lib/python3.14/subprocess.py", line 1861, in _execute_child
    and os.path.dirname(executable)
  File "<frozen posixpath>", line 178, in dirname
TypeError: expected str, bytes or os.PathLike object, not NoneType

Steps to reproduce, in debian/rules:

    %:
        dh $@ --with python-virtualenv

    override_dh_virtualenv:
        dh_virtualenv --builtin-venv

--python is optional, and without it dh_virtualenv crashes instead of
reporting an error. Since the venv module is only available in
Python 3, it should fall back to the default Python 3 interpreter and
run "python3 -m venv".
