It writes 8-bit RGB and RGBA images and provides synchronous and asynchronous interfaces for reading and writing image data. It also supports copying rectangular pixel regions and adjusting gamma. This library is a dependancy of Home Assistant, the Python smart home platform. I plan to maintain it as part of the Home Assistant team.
