Ok, thanks :-) For anyone else running into my particular problem, I solved this by using msmtp, which has a sendmail-compatible interface that you can point PHP at using PHP's sendmail_path option. The msmtp package does not conflict with with exim4, because it does not offer the sendmail command name (the msmtp-mta package does, and does conflict). Gr. Matthijs
