flectar-mail is a desktop email client written in Rust. It supports IMAP/SMTP/JMAP, Rust HTML and CSS renderer, it uses 20–140 MB RAM. It has support for Caldav/Carddav, and can use installed GnuPG 2.x.

The upstream project is available at:
https://github.com/flectar/mail

The software is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License,
version 3 only (AGPL-3.0-only).

The authors made already a Debian package. But I would like to have it in Debian. Maybe it's too early, but I have testet it a bit and it look-likes it works. Maybe some other people should also look at it.

HTML email rendering is currently the most experimental part. Some messages, especially those with complex or unusual markup and CSS, may not render correctly yet. It uses Blitz as rendering engine: https://github.com/DioxusLabs/blitz what is dual licensed under the Apache 2.0 and MIT licenses.

I would like to work on this package. As you said it's still quite early, and a
code review has to be done soon, but there are a lot of Rust dependencies so at
least that's something I can already work on.

I am also copying debian-devel and debian-rust in this email -- any inputs
would be welcome.
