Package: meld Version: 1.1.3-1 Severity: normal Hello,
it seems that having a locale with different character set than utf8, meld calls gtk functions with strings in that locale as parameters. It makes the gui almost unusable if there are more non-ascii characters. Please, remember that you have to call gtk functions always with utf8 arguments regardless of locale, but use eg. filenames in the locale coding (if you don't use glib) Regards Jiri Palecek -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17.3 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ISO-8859-2) (ignored: LC_ALL set to cs_CZ) Versions of packages meld depends on: ii python 2.3.5-5 An interactive high-level object-o ii python-glade2 2.8.2-3 GTK+ bindings: Glade support ii python-gnome2 2.12.3-2 Python bindings for the GNOME desk ii python-gtk2 2.8.2-3 Python bindings for the GTK+ widge Versions of packages meld recommends: ii python-gnome2-extras 2.12.1-2.1 Python bindings for the GNOME desk -- no debconf information ______________________________________________________________ Verschicken Sie romantische, coole und witzige Bilder per SMS!
