Package: xmove
Version: 2.0beta2-8
Severity: important
Steps to reproduce:
----
> xmove &
[1] 6909
> Implementing MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 user authentication
XMove 2.0 ready.
> DISPLAY=:1 xclock -update 1 &
[2] 6914
> xmovectrl :1 -move -suspend 1
> xmovectrl :1 -list
1 (no name) suspended
> xmovectrl :1 -move localhost:0 1
Unable to connect with new server
> xmovectrl :1 -list
1 (no name) suspended
> xmovectrl :1 -move localhost 1
----
The first try to move xclock back to localhost fails and returns with
the error printed above, the second try (xmovectrl :1 -move localhost
1) hangs indefinitely and apparently makes xmove go into an endless
loop. An strace of xmove in that situation shows that it's reading a
line of spaces from filedescriptor 3 indefinitely.
I didn't try this program in some year, but I do seem to remember that
it used to work.
Kind regards
FDF
