Package: logwatch

I run logwatch in the default setup and use postfix as my MTA with body_checks
enabled.

For each message discarded or rejected by postfix, logwatch reproduces
the messages, causing the mail from logwatch to be discarded or
rejected. The mail from logwatch will automatically match the
body_checks rules :-(

This is no bug in logwatch. The proper solution is to whitelist the sender of the logwatch mail. I'm sure that's possible within postfix.

I have run without body_checks for some time, and suffered spam in
truckloads for it.

I recently discovered mime-construct and have been able to work around
the problem in this way.

--snip--
It will base64 encode the log summary from logwatch and hence allow it
to escape the body_checks rules.

So you can no longer read your logwatch emails in your mailbox / maildir with less.

I'll keep this as wishlist bug, because there might be other reasons to use mime-construct. (Maybe it helps to fix the CORRUPTED MESSAGES issue with courier)
