At second thought I am quite suprised what has happened at your place.
Can you tell me (I know that is too late now) WHAT packages of texlive
2005-1 you had installed?!

The funny thing that I checked now and the code is already in all
packages, so I am really suprised that no preinst script actually hit
the warning message.

My idea of what should happen in an upgrade situation was:
- texlive-base-bin, texlive-doc-base and whatever else is installed
  in version 2005-1
- all of the packages are tried to be upgraded to the -2 version
- the preinst scripts of the packages are unpacked and executed.
and here the warning message with the exit 1 should have happened.

Strange that it didn't.

Best wishes

Norbert
