What makes you think the problem was in libxine1? What driver do you use? Can you please install this file: http://backports.org/backports.org/pool/main/x/xine-lib/libxine1_1.1.2-1bpo1_i386.deb (or if you use debian etch/sid, just the latest from unstable) and check if the problem still persits?
