Sorry the the late response. Yes, I object to removing python-gdchart, as it is *not* binary compatible with python-gdchart2, and is used by moinmoin. Who is this "we", by the way, that wants gd1 removed from the archive before etch? I am the maintainer of the the library itself and several libraries depending on it. Where can I learn more on this initiative? I am not against such initiative, but might have insight like the above about obstacles on the path to reaching that goal.
