i havent used postgresql as backend server for monitoring my hosts yet,
however, if upstream states that they may be performance problems i trust in
that. I can imagine the database server to have a higher work load while using
PostgreSQL. This may not be a problem while moinitoring 1-2 hosts, but in big
environments with > 100 machines.

im going to talk with Alexei (the main developer) and ask him about his
opinion. As ar as i know (from the forums) there has not been a single test
with PostgreSQL as Backend database during the whole 1.1 alpha stage and he
succested to use MySQL (a couple of times).

One solution might be to upload a package with postgresql support to
experimental (as soon as its fixed) and wait for feedback. I dont want to have
zabbix removed right before the next stable release due to Release Critical
bugs in a premature upload supporting postgresql. I hope you can understand
that :)
