Hello Maitland,

I try to see more clearly what you ask for

Skimming through the README.GDCM.txt file, apparently you ask for:
1) the lossless jpeg patch.
2) a custom patch from Gdcm.
3) another patch from Gdcm that add support for 16bit.
4) three builds, one for 8,12 and 16 bit.

How many different API/ABI that would make ?
What application do you have ?

Probably this bug should reassigned as a RFP of some sort.
