After an upgrade from 1.2.2-1 to 1.2.2-2, printing stopped working if
the destination was a printer class, and error_log filled up with
E [25/Aug/2006:17:20:48 +0000] Class "ps" hasn't any printers!
E [25/Aug/2006:17:20:48 +0000] Class "pcl" hasn't any printers!
E [25/Aug/2006:17:20:48 +0000] Class "raw" hasn't any printers!
This despite the fact that the classes definitely did have printers
(verified in both the web interface and /etc/cups/classes.conf), which
worked with 1.2.2-1 and worked again when cupsys (only) was reverted
back to 1.2.2-1.
Trying to use the web interface to "rewrite" the configuration ("Modify
Class" without making any changes) did not correct the problem.
Failure to print first observed via samba from MSWIN, then verified via
smbclient and lpr from cupsys-bsd.
"dpkg -i /var/cache/apt/archives/cupsys_1.2.2-1_i386.deb"
corrected the problem.
i386, Debian unstable, everything up to date except for python 2.4 migration.
