Package: debconf Version: 1.5.4 Severity: normal Funny thing... it seems the frontend must be called 'gnome' rather than 'GNOME'. However, when selecting the default frontend for debconf, it's spelled 'GNOME' which is problematic. In case it's not clear, allow me to demonstrate:
The following command works. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure -f gnome debconf The next command is issued when GNOME has been selected as the default frontend. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure debconf debconf: kan inte initiera skal: GNOME debconf: (Can't locate Debconf/FrontEnd/GNOME.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.8 /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.8 /usr/share/perl/5.8 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at (eval 19) line 2.) debconf: återgår till gränssnitt: Noninteractive And finally, with GNOME specified as frontend on the command line. [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ sudo dpkg-reconfigure -f GNOME debconf debconf: Please do not capitalize the first letter of the debconf frontend. debconf: kan inte initiera skal: GNOME debconf: (Can't locate Debconf/FrontEnd/GNOME.pm in @INC (@INC contains: /etc/perl /usr/local/lib/perl/5.8.8 /usr/local/share/perl/5.8.8 /usr/lib/perl5 /usr/share/perl5 /usr/lib/perl/5.8 /usr/share/perl/5.8 /usr/local/lib/site_perl .) at (eval 19) line 2.) And that's the same errors and warnings, when GNOME is specified from the command line. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Kernel: Linux 2.6.17 Locale: LANG=sv_SE.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=sv_SE.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages debconf depends on: ii debconf-i18n 1.5.4 full internationalization support ii perl-base 5.8.8-6.1 The Pathologically Eclectic Rubbis Versions of packages debconf recommends: ii apt-utils 0.6.45 APT utility programs -- debconf information: debconf-apt-progress/preparing: debconf-apt-progress/title: debconf-apt-progress/info: debconf-apt-progress/media-change: * debconf/frontend: GNOME * debconf/priority: medium -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
