Can you please test

I'm unable to verify your problem here. The *really* strange
thing is that if I input your query I get:
$ wn apple -searchtype -ants
wn: invalid search option: -searchtype
wn: invalid search option: -ants
Moreover I guess you misread the manpage a little bit. The
correct syntax would be:
$ wn free -antsv
Antonyms of verb free
2 of 10 senses of free
Sense 1
free, liberate, release, unloose, unloosen, loose
Antonym of confine (Sense 5)
=>confine, detain
Sense 7
free, disengage
Antonym of obstruct (Sense 2)
=>obstruct, obturate, impede, occlude, jam, block, close up
or for your example
$ wn apple -antsn
Antonyms of noun apple
I'm not sure whether you would expect "pear" as answer, but that's
another problem. ;-)
So I have no real idea why this fails for you. I would like
to ask you to verify that wordnet and wordnet-base are the
same versions. If not there might be a problem of the
dependencies of the package which should be fixed for sure.
Please also try
sudo apt-get --purge remove wordnet wordnet-base
sudo apt-get install wordnet wordnet-base
and report your results here.
Kind regards and thanks for using WordNet
Andreas.
