I also noticed this tonight, eg: VSZ RSS COMMAND 132956 59816 /usr/bin/python -S /usr/bin/reportbug package
This extreme memory usage is new, I don't remember it happening before. If it is python's fault - is it maybe related to the recent python 2.4 upgrade?
