Under Windows I have no problems watching DVDs at screen resolution
1280x1024, so hardware resources and memory in particular should be
enough for this task.
I didn't try the latest version in testing because that would require
the change of quite many packages.
I think what I'll do then is produce a backport for sarge then that
should have the same dependencies as the existing version in sarge does.
There is a patch that fixed several known issues with video display that
with any luck should solve this one too. I'll send you another email
once I've built the package too.
