Package: arping Version: 2.05-2 Severity: wishlist I'd like to suggest a couple of extra options for arping:
1. An option to specify a maximum number of replies to wait for. After this many replies have been received (and details printed to stdout) arping would exit. 2. An option to specify a maximum running time. Arping would exit after running for this length of time, no matter how many replies had been received. Using both these options together would be useful in a network scanning script which scans the local network by IP address and collects the MAC addresses returned. For now I guess I can put that functionality into the script, but it'd be good to get it into arping itself.
