failed!
This is because mod_auth got split up, and mod_authz_groupfile and
mod_authn_file are not installed by default.
My quick fix is adding
LoadModule authz_groupfile_module
/usr/lib/apache2/modules/mod_authz_groupfile.so
LoadModule authn_file_module /usr/lib/apache2/modules/mod_authn_file.so
to /etc/backuppc/apache.conf, but of course that will break on apache < 2.2.
H'mmm... that isn't quite good enough. Then I get
