Our job is not only or specifically limited to patch code. In this case, however, I have been doing the research for you: I copied the error in your bug report and pasted it in Google, providing tons of information about the problem. Adding "site:xmms.org" to the Google query, I found five bug reports in XMMS upstream, and several other places in the Internet, including Debian's own mailing lists [1] which all point out that this is an X.org problem. Furthermore, a bug report has already been filed regarding this issue in Debian's BTS [2], in this package. Therefore I'm marking this bug as a duplicate of bug #318582. This helps the maintainer to organize the work so we can spend more time patching code and satisfying all your needs and hopes. However, I'm monitoring upstream and I'll keep you informed of any information regarding this issue. Thank you very much for your attention to details, Jose [1] http://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2005/08/msg00126.html [2] http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=318582 -- José M.
