Package: reportbug
Version: 3.30
Severity: normal

Hi,

A few days ago I tried to send a report for another package, but since my exim4
package was misconfigured the mail had never arrived in the BTS. It would be
nice if the user would be notified when an email error occurs. Something along
the lines of:"Could not send message, please check your email configuration". I
assume it's also possible to detect what mail system someone is using in most
cases. The people having a broken mail setup are typically the kind of users
that just have the default running. In this case mentioning a pointer to the
documentation of the mail system would be helpfull.

I don't need this "feature" anymore, but it would have saved me time.
