Package: wakeonlan
Version: 0.41-6
Followup-For: Bug #296825

according the examples in ethers(5), we can write IP _or_ symbolic
names along the ether address in /etc/ethers. It would be great if
wakeonlan can support them.
  I patched wakeonlan to do so:
On line 84, replace:
if ($ip eq $ip_addr) {
by:
if ($ip eq $ip_addr or $ip eq $host) {

  Best regards,
    Vincent
