Thanks for the detailed explanation of the problem. You're correct that there's a double encode happening somewhere, at least based on those symptoms. Unfortunately, I can't reproduce it locally, nor can other QL developers. Can you please send me your ~/.quodlibet/config and ~/.quodlibet/album_pattern files (as attachments, not inline)?
