Sorry, I didn't have time yet to look at this, but there might be a solution to the underlying problem. See http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=122020 It is fixed in current SVN of 3.5 branch, so I'm going to wait until the next update of kdelibs/kdebase that fetches an update from SVN.
