Hi
Hi Ola,
I have now determined that it can build using itself as compiler (If I make a preliminary version bootstrapped with binary sun javac). However it seems to require the jvm from sun to compile though...
You need a jdk to bootstrap the compiler: https://openjdk.dev.java.net/compiler/README.html#build

Maybe packaging such a piece of software need some discussions. Tom Marble already worked a lot on the Sun' jdk package in non-free. Also, I think there is an Alioth's project (if not, it should be) to package the compiler and the hotspot. Please, go co-maintaining with people who already worked on the jdk package. Many thanks for your enthousiasme and for your so fast work ;-) -- Arnaud Vandyck -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
