Actually, I: (1) started to file bugs for all piuparts failures. That's when I filed this bug. (2) decided that it was really too much work, and changed my environment to detect failures that happen even when important & required packages are not removed (systraq doesn't fail in this case) (3) reported the failures found in (2) (4) mailed d-qa@ and d-release@ with a list of packages that fail due to problems with important/required packages. In ntp.postrm, the call to deluser is protected like this: deluser --system --quiet ntp || true ntp-simple doesn't have a postrm. openssh-server brings very bad news. piuparts reports a problem with broken symlinks after the installation (which went fine), and then exists. I ignore broken symlinks problems. But the problem is that it doesn't test removal/purge. So it means that I still have a lot of packages to test, with a lot of potential RC bugs. Arg!
