When connecting to various RDP servers, the appearance of certain
text characters appears to be reversed. Most notably, "N" is backwards
and "t" appears like "j" with a crossed top, on the fonts "Arial" and
"Courier New" respectively. This behavior was confirmed on both WinXP
SP2 and WinServer2k3.
It appears to related to xserver-xorg-video-ati (ver 1:6.6.3-2), using
the "radeon" module, as adding the option "XaaNoMono8x8PatternFillRect"
to the device config and restarting xorg clears up the issue. The issue
may actually lay in the video-ati package, but rdesktop is the only
package that I have seen that exibits this font rendering problem.
