Hello! Well, now I'm not sure that patch solves the problem, because no evolution is crashing again to me... At least it removes the warning messages! ;)
In my case (and maybe the O.P.) the case might be related to the "too many files" bug: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=198935 valgrind reported more than 1010 fd open!
