This is a shared debconf string, shared/ldapns/ldap-server, so you might have been asked at another place for it - the default is 127.0.0.1 in this package. If you however install libnss-ldap first, then this defaults to ldap://127.0.0.1/. In summary, the installation could fail without any user input, which is RC.
