i run 2.4 on all my hardware, so i have only tested this on 2.4.

is it missing? i haven't tried to decode the ioctl values in the
strace output i submitted, but from past experience there's one
more annoying possibility: ultrasparcs (like this one) have a 32bit
userland but a 64bit kernel. code assuming userlan==kernel occasionally
fails very nicely...
