Package: module-assistant Version: 0.10.8 Severity: important
When using the stock linux-image-2.6.18-3-xen-vserver-amd64, module-assistant compiles and installes the nvidia binary driver just fine, but insertion of this module - via startx or modprob - leads to a kernel panic and automatic reboot. The xorg-delivered nv module is usable. -- System Information: Debian Release: 4.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (900, 'unstable'), (800, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.6.18-3-xen-vserver-amd64 Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Versions of packages module-assistant depends on: ii libtext-wrapi18n-perl 0.06-5 internationalized substitute of Te ii perl 5.8.8-6.1 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction Versions of packages module-assistant recommends: ii liblocale-gettext-perl 1.05-1 Using libc functions for internati -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
