But this issue is not about Solaris. And I guess you suggested two or three
seconds because of cdrecords behaviour.

IIRC it forces a "gracetime" of two or three seconds in which a drive
(with some luck) is queried by the manager and is hopefully released.

Figured it right?

I cannot remember real precautions to make cdrecords operation really
exclusive in cdrtools' source.

Yeah, sure. The same way there are AFAICS no bug reports about wodim
destroying media in Pioneer drives, even if you claim such things that
from time to time.

Not really. They complained once, we solved that in a more reliable way.
It is not perfect but is sufficient for the most cases, and it will be
improved, sooner or later.
