When I tried to upgrade to -6 I got this message: Setting up gaim-data (2.0.0+beta5-6) ... /var/lib/dpkg/info/gaim-data.postinst: 6: gconf-schemas: not found dpkg: error processing gaim-data (--configure): subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 127 Errors were encountered while processing: gaim-data Looks to me that you are trying to use gconf-schemas on machines that don't have gconf2 installed like mine (no gnome or kde here). I have added a "&& [ -x /usr/sbin/gconf-schemas ]" to the "if" of the postinst and thus I could configure gaim without problem.
