package: totem severity: wishlist Hello!
I wonder why it is not possible to have both 'totem-xine' and 'totem-gstreamer' packages installed at the same time. The executables in /usr/bin could be renamed to the packages names and linking with /usr/bin/totem could be handled via Debian's alternatives system. All files which are common in both packages could be moved into a 'totem-common' package on which both frontends depend. Sometimes if a movies fails to play on the one backend it perfectly runs on the other one. In the current situation you have to remove the one package in order to install the other one even if you only want to test a video file with both engines.
