Package: sl-modem Version: sl-modem-2.9.9d+e-pre2 Severity: normal
Open the kmix application under KDE. Set the output modem speaker volume to the max, within the Intel CH6 Modem Mixer (provided by the snd_intel8x0m kernel module). Keep the kmix window open on the top of your screen. Connect your machine to the internet, with kppp or Xtel; you can hear you modem at work. The volume setting defined in the kmix window doesn't change. Close your internet RTC connection normally and look at the kmix window at the same time. You will see that slmodemd puts the output modem speaker volume to 0.
