check. why can't I just setup "catch throw" before i run the program?

If it works for you (that is if it can resolve __cxa_throw, before actually
running the application), you can, it doesn't work here though. Even
preloading libstdc++ inside gdb doesn't help here heh, i always have to use
it as described (or maybe i'm just not gdb savvy enough :)



... hum. well, I don't have a crash anymore, either inside or outside
gdb.  :) It is probably due to the new version I have here
(0.36.0~rc1-1). I don't recall having reportbug bug me because there
was a newer version available, so I guess it's safe to assume that a
later upload fixed this bug and I need to thank you, so...

Ok good to hear it works. There was a lot of code harness and cleaning up
done in the library backend for 0.36, so it's very likely that this problem
was simply fixed as a consequence of the cleanup.
