Hi! I also get this problem with firefox and version 7167 of the nvidia drivers. The X-server hangs at some point when I use firefox. The X-server take 100% of the CPU and the only thing I can do is move the mouse. The host is working as I can login via network and kill the X-server. This happened to me four times yesterday and one time today (so far..). I've run 6629 for months without any problem.
I noticed that the GL-performance is much better with 7167 compared to 6629. I get 500 frames/s running glxgears with 6629 and 660 frames/s with 7167 with my (slow) GeForce4 MX 440. System: debian testing amd64 (pure64) with Athlon 64 3500+ and GeForce4 MX 440. Kernel 2.6.11.3 and 2.6.10 .
