[ Please use the "reportbug" tool to report bugs, it provides more information to maintainers such as the versions of packages depended on, and the distribution you track. ] Could you please install mpeg2dec, download <http://www.mpeg2.de/video/streams/gi7.m2v> (for example) and run "mpeg2dec gi7.m2v"? Does it crash? Could you please try exporting "LD_ASSUME_KERNEL=2.4" and probably "LD_DEBUG=all" prior to crashing gstreamer, and see whether that helps/produces interesting information?
