Hi Matthias, could you tell me if the problem you found was shown during an upgrade? I think you installed and configured a previous version of hylafax while gawk was installed. Then you removed gawk, and later on, you upgraded hylafax.
The new hylafax package tried to run faxsetup in order to update its configuration but stopped because of gawk missing. Please check your configuration file /etc/hylafax/setup.cache as I already wrote in this bug report. Then let me know if this work.
