Package: flashplugin-nonfree Version: 9.0.21.78.4 Severity: normal Hello,
I do not have any sound with Flash plugin 9. I tested several browsers: Firefox, Iceape and Opera. As it works fine on another machine, I suspect that the problem is related to the sound card. Lspci reports it to be an Ensoniq ES1370 [AudioPCI]. IIRC, it is a Sound Blaster 64 PCI. The Alsa driver is snd_ens1370. Other applications work just fine: aplay, Flash plugin 7, ogg123, ... I also noticed that, if I put the following line in my ~/.asoundrc: defaults.pcm.dmix_format FOOBAR Flash plugin 9 works, but an error message is printed on the terminal: ALSA lib pcm.c:6620:(snd_pcm_slave_conf) unknown format FOOBAR This bogus setting however breaks the other (previously working) programs. For example, aplay complains that: ALSA lib pcm.c:6620:(snd_pcm_slave_conf) unknown format FOOBAR aplay: main:550: audio open error: Invalid argument ogg123 fails with a similar error message. That is why I think that it is Flash plugin 9 which is faulty.
