i have the following asus usb stick:
  ID 0b05:1706 ASUSTek Computer, Inc. 

as of 0cvs20070104.1-1+2.6.18-8, i can monitor and associate as before,
but don't seem to be able to receive any packets anymore. the same card
works fine with 0cvs20060928-1+2.6.18-6 .

here is the list of commands i used to bring the card up:

iwconfig wlan0 mode managed
iwconfig wlan0 essid $ESSID
iwconfig wlan0 channel $CHANN
iwconfig wlan0 key open
#iwconfig wlan0 rate 1M
ifconfig wlan0 up
iwlist wlan0 scan
iwconfig wlan0 ap $BSSID
dhclient wlan0
