I will try to find out what can be done to incorporate the new version of tex4ht into "etch"---either as a new version or using the bug fixes from the new version in the older version. As regards the Java programs which are required, I've been looking for some help with this issue (see #386269). The programs do not seem to compile with the Java development tools that are included in Debian---some classes are perhaps only available with Sun Java. Regards, Kapil. --
