Hi, I ask the kernel usb guys about this problem. It seems to be some issue with older iPods (Mine is 'old' as in iPod Photo). This is the thread:

The patch has now been included in 2.6.20-rc4: http://lkml.org/lkml/2007/1/7/7 A thing to notice is that other older iPods might be affected and I think would need to be reported to the linux-usb-devel, as it seems to be a solution specific to each iPod model.
