Hi Frederic, I have been able to confirm that things do work in version 2.3.0, although the internal memory needs to be empty in order to view pictures from the SD card.
Therefore, my original bug does not need to be reported anymore to libgphoto, but in debian an upgrade to 2.3.0 is still requested.
