I had trouble identifying what you were referring to here, so for clarification: The package name is python-libhamlib2, which per the python policy is to be used for extensions that provide support for /usr/bin/python. The package Depends: python (>= 2.3), which implies that python-libhamlib2 is usable with versions of /usr/bin/python of 2.3 and above. But this is not the case, because it only ships the binaries for python2.4. Thus, the package will be installable on partially-upgraded sarge systems when it shouldn't, as well as on future versions of Debian where python2.5 is the default python version. -- Steve Langasek Give me a lever long enough and a Free OS Debian Developer to set it on, and I can move the world.
