Package: chrony Version: 1.21z-5 System info: Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe motherboard AMD Athlon 3800+ CPU
Running Etch amd64, stock debian 2.6.18-3 amd64 kernel. Chrony won't access the hardware clock to either show rtcdata or trim or write. Unfortuantly, it also prevents the hwclock init.d scripts from accessing it either. The net result is that my hardware clock time is drifing away from reality. I access the net via intermittant dialup ppp. There should be a mechanism whereby if chrony can't access the hwclock that it allows the hwclock scripts to do so.
